“Have you ever heard of Jose Villa” asked Cyndi. In that moment, it felt like fireworks went off. “Absolutely” I responded, adding “Do you know Jonathan Can…” Cyndi jumped in with “Jonathan Canlas…I love him!” In that moment, I knew we were going to have an amazing family lifestyle portrait session. When your clients know and respect those that influence your work, it’s just going to be a good day. We spent the rest of the evening walking around Cleveland shooting photos and talking shop.
Equally amazing is Cyndi’s family – Lee, Jordan, and Natalie. The two girls are brilliant beyond their years and truly hysterical! They threw themselves into the event and had a great day. As we were wrapping up the session, Jordan asked “So, I’ll see you next year?” A little perplexed, I responded “Sure, what for?” Jordan jumped in with “Senior portraits, silly!” I just melted and have been in a good mood ever since. What an amazing vote of confidence in my work.
So here are just a few of my favorites, and I certainly hope you enjoy. Judging by Cyndi’s early reaction, I think the Dillard’s will just love their new portraits.
Working with the Dillard’s was such fun that I have decided more family lifestyle portrait sessions need to be in my future. Weddings are great, but I certainly love doing both. Thankfully, I have another family session coming up in August. Check back soon to see more.
Out of the blue I received a call from Bailee. She was searching for a wedding photographer and their wedding was just around the corner. By some luck of Oden, I was free for their big wedding day. The luck was not hers, but mine. You see, they were getting married at my favorite venue of all time. Hit the jump to see the great location and some of my favorite photos.
I don’t know what I was thinking. I shot this wedding at the beginning of last year and never really posted any of the images. I have used a couple of the wedding photos in my portfolio, but never offered any details on the wedding day. Well, I magically found an hour or two, so I thought I would create a new wedding post. Honestly, this wedding was on of my favorites and the couple absolutely loved their wedding photos.
While I am a Cleveland wedding photographer, Molly and Justin’s wedding was held in Columbus, Ohio. I volunteered to help a dear friend of mine shoot the wedding in Columbus. After all, my friend shot my wedding, so I had to help. Molly and Justin looked beautiful that day, the weather was grand for early May, and the venues could not have been more gorgeous. For those that are interested, the wedding reception was held at the Columbus Athletic Club in Columbus, Ohio.
Enough said, here are some of my favorite photos from their wedding -
